Blog posts haven't been consistent lately...have to put family first. My mother is 81 and has smoked since she was 13.
Last week her years of using tobacco finally caught up with her as she was diagnosed with lung cancer. It's malignant; it's advanced.
We will fight it now.
Sadly, it is a teachable moment.
See. I told you so! I knew this would happen.
If she only smoked one per day...well, my 3rd grader has done the math:
365 x 68 = 24,820
That's a lot of smoking; and the true total has to be way above that.
It's also a lot of money...money for the tobacco & money for the illness.
So the blog posts may not be regular for a while...
I'm sorry to read about the struggle your mom is going through. I went through this exact same thing with my mom in 2006, and events happened much more quickly than I ever expected. Plese spend as much time with her as you can. I'll be thinking of your family in the coming months.
